My honest opinion on Coffee 2.0 – the mushroom coffee

My honest review of Coffee 2.0 mushroom coffee — taste, ingredients, energy, pros and cons. Is it worth buying? Read my honest experience.

Moje iskreno mnenje o Coffee 2.0 – kavi z gobami

Just like most people, I also always started my day with coffee. But after years of drinking it daily, I began noticing side effects: rapid heartbeat, nervousness, shaking, afternoon energy crashes, and sometimes even sleep problems. I liked the morning ritual, but not the feeling coffee left behind.

So I started looking for alternatives — teas, supplements, matcha, anything. And I kept seeing people mention mushroom coffee. At first it seemed a bit strange to me (mushrooms… in coffee?), but the more I researched, the more it became clear that this could be the solution: stable energy, no jitters, no crashes, and long-term benefits.

I tried several different mushroom coffees. Some were okay, others terrible, but one stood out: Coffee 2.0.

Taste

Honestly — the taste worried me the most. But Coffee 2.0 completely surprised me. The cacao vanilla flavour is creamy, tasty and really pleasant — almost like hot cocoa. For me a pure 10/10. I could drink it all day if it didn’t contain caffeine.

They also have the coffee flavour, which I would rate a solid 9/10. A very satisfying taste, really reminds you of coffee, though it’s a bit similar to instant versions. Still much better than all other mushroom coffees I tested.

Energy and focus

This is where Coffee 2.0 truly shines. In 15 minutes I became alert, collected and focused — without restlessness or rapid heartbeat. The energy lasted 6–8 hours with no afternoon crash of any kind. For me this meant I didn’t need a second (or third) cup.

I also noticed that I was much calmer and less tense throughout the day. The biggest surprise? In the evening I actually slept better than when I drank regular coffee.

Ingredients

Coffee 2.0 is not just a mushroom blend in a bag. It is a complete formula:

5 functional mushrooms (lion’s mane, cordyceps, reishi, chaga, shiitake)

7 adaptogenic herbs (ashwagandha, rhodiola, maca, guarana, etc.)

+ collagen for skin, digestion and joint support

Honestly, this is the most complete formula I have found — and you can really feel it.

A big advantage is that they use highly concentrated fruiting body extracts, not cheap mycelium or simple ground mushrooms. Because of the 10:1 and 20:1 extracts, one scoop corresponds to the nutritional value of up to 12 grams of fresh mushrooms. This means 3–4× more mushroom content than most other brands — and the difference is noticeable.

Package size and extras

One thing I really like: the bag is huge — 240 g / 30 servings. I’ve been drinking it for more than 3 weeks and I still have more than half left.

With the first purchase you also get free gifts — a quality frother, a metal mug and a spoon. And these are not cheap additions, they are actually high quality.

Weaknesses

Nothing is perfect, so Coffee 2.0 also has some downsides:

  • They have only one main flavour (cacao/vanilla) and one coffee version. I would like to see matcha or chai.

  • It’s not the cheapest — around €39.90 per bag. With bundles or subscription it goes closer to €29, and the gifts add value.

  • It contains collagen, so it’s not suitable for vegans. My vegan friend skipped it because of that, but the added collagen suits me very well.

  • It’s available only online (although my package arrived in 2 days).

Final Rating

If you’re looking for a coffee alternative that actually tastes good, provides long-lasting focus and doesn’t cause an afternoon crash, Coffee 2.0 is the one I recommend. Of all the mushroom coffees I’ve tried, it was the only one I wanted to drink every day.
